First Appearence

February 13th, 2011

On September 12th 2009, Bruce Mc Gowan and other brush friends, have brought there artworks from there studios. For Mc Gowan, it was his first appearance in a show of its kind. It was held at ”La Maison Le Pailleur” during the Culture Week in Quebec. ”I was overwhelmed from all the attention and good critics my paintings had, for me it was the ultimate test with the public, which was quite revealing and convincing. I dread the worse with my Lady without skin and with my older experimental works”. The Gallery was packed with art enthusiasts and artists, where the wine was popping and so was the art. Prints and other derived products from Mc Gowan where also on sale.

Coming out from the dark

Bruce Mc Gowan’s eclectic body of work gathers its influences from classic as well as modern art, it has been described as “Pop Rococo”. Brought to life in a unique and surrealist way, his work depicts strong vibrant colours and metallic paints, resulting in a striking aesthetic and giving his art a synthetic feel. It is a true reflection of contemporary and modern society.
